The Mandravasarotra grows only in Madagascar (endemic).
Very aromatic and evergreen, every part of this plant can be used: bark, fruit and root for their medicinal properties.
Saro oil is obtained by steam distillation of the fresh leaves.
Unique in the world, this plant grows, however, as several varieties according to region. It is a primitive plant that was already present in the time of dinosaurs.
It grows abundantly in the northern region of Majunga, coastal city of North West Madagascar.
